There’s something deeply nourishing about summer when we allow it to be slow, sensory, and intentional.
Longer days, warm sunshine, and nature in full bloom invite us to soften our pace. This is exactly where wellness becomes more than just what’s on our plate. It's about the whole practice.

In collaboration with The Herbal Vixen Co., whose Forged; By Vixen: The Summer Edit skincare box features the soothing benefits of lavender, I wanted to create a recipe that mirrors that same intention... simple, seasonal, and supportive for both body and nervous system.
These Lavender Lemon Popsicles can be more than just a yummy treat. They can be a moment of pause, a way to cool the body, uplift digestion, and gently support your nervous system on warm summer days.
Why Lavender + Lemon?
Lavender is often thought of in skincare and aromatherapy, but it also has a long history of culinary and medicinal use. When used properly, it offers subtle floral notes alongside powerful calming properties.
Lavender supports the nervous system, helping to ease tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
Lemon brings a bright, uplifting energy while supporting digestion and liver function. This is key during warmer months when our bodies naturally seek lighter, more hydrating foods.
Honey adds a touch of sweetness while offering antimicrobial benefits and a more balanced blood sugar response compared to refined sugars.
Together, these ingredients create a beautiful harmony: calming yet refreshing, cooling yet energizing.
What Is a Solar Infusion?
This recipe uses a lavender solar infusion crafted by The Herbal Vixen Co., which adds an extra layer of intention.
Solar infusions are made by steeping herbs in sunlight, allowing gentle extraction without harsh heat. This method preserves delicate plant compounds while infusing the preparation with warmth and vitality, something I love from both a nutritional and energetic perspective.
It’s a reminder that how we prepare our food matters just as much as what we use.
Lavender Lemon Popsicles Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups lavender solar infusion (Infusion recipe available in Forged; By Vixen: The Summer Edit)
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (or lemon balm infusion if included)
1-2 tablespoons of your favourite local honey (adjust to taste)
Instructions:
In a bowl or glass jar, gently whisk together the lavender infusion, lemon juice, and honey until well combined.
Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.
Freeze overnight or until fully set.
Enjoy slowly, ideally outside, letting it become a moment, not just a snack.
A Holistic Nutrition Perspective
In holistic nutrition, we look beyond nutrients alone. We consider how food makes you feel, how it supports your rhythms, and how it connects you back to your body.
These popsicles are:
Hydrating and cooling, which is essential during summer when heat can deplete fluids and energy
Nervous system supportive, thanks to lavender’s calming properties
Digestion supportive, with lemon stimulating digestive enzymes
Free from refined sugar, helping you feel balanced instead of spiking and crashing energy
But maybe most importantly, they invite presence.
Eating something cold, floral, and refreshing on a warm day naturally slows you down. It encourages you to pause, breathe, and reconnect which is just as nourishing as the ingredients themselves.
Bringing Ritual Into Everyday Nourishment
This is what I love most about combining herbalism and holistic nutrition.
It allows us to create small, intentional moments that help you feel grounded, supported, and connected to your body, your environment, and your inner rhythm.
Whether you’re enjoying these popsicles after a long day, sharing them with friends and family, or simply stepping outside for a quiet moment in the sun, let this be a reminder that nourishment can be simple. And it can feel really, really good.
